CDM 2015 Awareness

Since 1995 Construction Study Centre has delivered CDM courses to thousands of delegates. On 6th April 2015 the revised CDM 2015 regulations came into force and Construction Study Centre continues to provide effective and dynamic training for these regulations.

To stay relevant in todayís construction industry, whether you are a client, designer, contractor, principal designer, principal contractor, project manager or contract administrator you need to be aware of the changed requirements. The requirements contain important updates relating to when and how they are applied, including detailed changes on various duty holders and associated documentation.

The alternative could be a criminal prosecution which your professional indemnity insurance or contractors all risk insurance will not protect you against.

This 1 day awareness course is designed to give delegates a clear concise overview of the regulations and the associated guidance.

CDM 2015: Principal Designer- 2 Day


Since 1995 CSC has provided training for thousands of delegates associated with CDM 94 & 7. The revised CDM regulations 2015 came into force on the 6th April and CSC are continuing to provide effective and dynamic training for these regulations.
They contain important changes related to when and how they are applied, including changes to detailed requirements on various duty holders and associated documentation.
The new role of the principal designer needs careful consideration and is not a direct replacement of the CDM Coordinator. If you are appointed or may be appointed as the PD you need to understand what to do and how to carry out the role.
Not knowing that you are the PD could be a very expensive mistake to make and could lead to a criminal prosecution which your professional indemnity insurance will not protect you against.
This 2-day course is designed to give delegates not only a clear and concise overview of the regulations and the associated guidance but explores the PDís role in depth.

Designers Responsibilities Under CDM 2015

Since 1995 CSC has provided training for thousands of delegates associated with CDM 94 & 7. The revised CDM regulations 2015 came into force on the 6th April and CSC are continuing to provide effective and dynamic training for these regulations.
They contain important changes related to when and how they are applied, including changes to detailed requirements on various duty holders and associated documentation.
You may be a Designer by profession, or a Principal Designer, or you may be a Client, Principal Contractor, or Contractor making design decisions. If so, then you need to understand the duties of Designers.
The alternative could be a criminal prosecution which your indemnity insurance will not protect you against.
This one day designers course is designed to give delegates a clear concise overview of the regulations and associated guidance but explores the designerís role in depth.

JCT suite of contracts revisions: 2016 editions to replace the 2011 editions

2016 saw many revisions in the contracting world, most noticeably was the JCT suite of contracts which had 2016 editions to replace the 2011 editions. The new editions feature:
- Fair Payment, transparency and BIM
- CDM Regulations 2015
- Public Contracts Regulations 2015,
- Fair Payment principles, simplification and consolidation of payment provisions
- Easier third party arrangements including performance bond
- Insurance of Existing Structures cover for Contractors, Further changes to improve
- Named Specialists

2016 also saw the issue of the THE SOCIETY OF CONSTRUCTION LAW DELAY AND DISRUPTION PROTOCOL 2nd Edition, all be it as a consultation draft.

The 2nd Edition of the Pre Action Protocol for Construction and Engineering Disputes was also launched in 2016. It is similar in many ways to itís predecessor, with the main change being the new edition introduces a Protocol Referee Procedure where by TeCSA appoint a referee who provides a binding Decision.
